The YWCA of Hamilton is governed by a Board led by President Rachel Bowley*.
The Board comprises:
Members: Julie Kelly, Gaye Barton, Syrina Pene, Erin Litchfield, Lucy-Gillian Baker*, Hannah Divehall,* Ana Ngamoki,* Jessica Danby*+, Hilary Max*+ and Joanne Kelly++
* Indicates young women aged 30 and under.
+ Indicates current year's Tertiary Education Scholarship holders.
++ 2012 Maori Women's Community Award holder.
The Board meets monthly and we hold an Annual General Meeting in October of each year.
New Board members are welcome.
OUR PURPOSE
The YWCA of Hamilton works for individual and community change by empowering women, especially young women, to develop and exercise their individual and collective leadership through enhancing their spiritual, physical, mental and cultural well-being. We are committed to addressing all forms of oppression, so that women may together attain social and economic justice.
We are committed to empowering young women within the wider community of women to make positive choices in order to affect social change.
