Rachel Bowley has been selected as part of the World YWCA delegation to the Internatioanl AIDS Conference in Vienna: YWCA of Hamilton Co-Vice President  and Young Women's Collective member Rachel Bowley has been selected to be part of the World YWCA delegation to the International AIDS Conference, Vienna, Austria, from 18 – 23 July 2010.

Rachel and her World YWCA colleagues will share the work of the YWCA on sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV and AIDS with the global AIDS community.  She also hopes to represent Aotearoa-New Zealand at the International Women’s Summit on “Women Creating a Safe World” in Zurich, Switzerland in July next year.”

Young Women's Collective

Young women are one of the main focuses of the YWCA’s work. The Young Women's Collective are women aged 30 and under who are involved as staff and volunteers throughout the YWCA of Aotearoa New Zealand and are part of a worldwide organisation. The YWCA identifies the needs and wants of young women locally and nationally, and responds to those in different ways – through:

The Mission statement of the Young Women’s Collective is :

By acknowledging Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our commitment to social justice, we the National Young Women's Collective of the Ydub Network aim to ensure young women's perspectives are represented and up held throughout the National YWCA and World YWCA, and to provide support, opportunities, training and resources to young women of all cultures, spiritualities, lifestyles and abilities to empower them to be seen, heard and  able to meet their own needs.
